Taylor'd Gardens
East Vancouver
A corner lot on a tree lined street provides room for both plantings and children to run wild.
The owners initially wanted to limit some of the undefined space with planting beds and trees. There was to be a place to grow vegetables, a place to sit and flowers to enjoy.
Children, when they came, added new garden users with their much different wants. Thus began a period of play-spaces that gave children their own separate, private world to enjoy.
The garden continues to evolve as plantings no longer flourish where they once did, as parts of the garden wear out from sustained use and as the owners' interests change.
